This is the picture that I just received of Alea from last January. A family who was just in Shymkent was able to talk our coordinator into taking a picture of "this picture" for us and for their son too. It is depressingly blurry, but at least I have it! It is most definitely her, as you can tell from her birthmark on her forehead, and as Warren and I could tell from the sweet little way she was holding her hands. She was 3 and a half pounds when she was born and this was taken 2 and a half months later. She was still VERY tiny.
This is part of a post that I wrote during that time. I was thinking back to Christmas and, "wondering how she was doing that day and if anyone told her they loved her. I continue to pray that God will hold her and whisper His sweet love for her. I know that He loves her so much more than I ever could. That leaves me with a smile." Little did I know that at that very time, Alea was entering the Baby House.
I feel so blessed to have this part of her past. It is such a treasure to me as I'm sure that it will be to Alea when she gets older. If any of you reading this know some family's who traveled to the baby house in Shymkent last winter and spring and have pictures of some of the children there, could you please give them my name. Alea entered the BH in mid January. Family's all over the place sometimes turn up with a picture of other's children, I even had a picture of another family's child and was able to pass it on to them. Every little bit of info we can get on our babies is so very important to them.
