Alea's first Easter!

Yesterday we woke up to pouring rain outside. I don't mean just raining, I mean pouring, dumping, raining cats and dogs!!

Ethan woke up and came downstairs to see me early. He snuggled in and smiled up at me and said, "Mommy, Jesus rose from the grave today after He died for our sins. It's Easter Sunday!!!" I was so touched, and blessed that he remembered what Easter is all about. I expected that they would wake up wanting to look for their baskets, but they both first wanted to talk about Jesus and what a wonderful day it was for all of us when Jesus rose again. We had a little prayer time together and then the requests for hunting their baskets started in earnest. It didn't take long for them to find them, there aren't many good hiding places in the house, and it was too wet ouside to hide them. When Alea woke up, the boys couldn't wait to give her basket to her. She got a baby that looks like her, with a baby bottle to go with. She was so cute snuggling it:O)

Later we went to church with my kids all dressed up. I'll tell you, that doesn't happen very often. The boys hate wearing any shirt that has buttons on it, and even if I can get them in one they don't stay clean very long. Alea got to wear her cute little pink dress and she also had to take her new baby with her to church.

Alea has a new fascination with dolls, which I love of course. It is the cutest thing!! She will hold it up to her cheek and pat it's back and cooo at it. She even has a baby bottle for it and will try to feed it:O) We all think it's the cutest thing.

Oh, by the way....Alea is now officially walking. She is everywhere!!! On friday, she got into the toilet(yuck!), the garbage can, the plants(dirt was everywhere) and the crayons. That was all within a half an hour!!!!! To say she is busy is putting it mildly, lol! She gets especially naughty the closer we get to her naptime. She's also changing her naptimes, which make each day a question as to how it will go. Will we be taking one nap or two today is the question???

We went to a family friend's house yesterday for Easter dinner and for an egg hunt. Alea just wanted to eat the eggs or throw them. We had to bundle her up just to keep her warm. She still just stayed on the patio with her cousin Kaden and they hunted eggs together. They were so cute, but catching a picture of her was really hard. We got a few of her coloring with chalk. I wish we could have gotten one of her face after she tasted the chalk:O) It was hilarious!!! Much like biting into a slice of lemon.

The boys had a blast hunting for eggs too. Caleb and his friend Kobe went down on the beach to hunt for their eggs. They are beginning to think that egg hunting is for babies, so we had to make it a little harder. Ethan stayed up in the yard and found tons of eggs. They were so cute running around crazy looking for eggs. They both came in soaked and hungry.

All in all, we had so much fun. We only wish that we could have a 70 degree Easter someday. We pray that you all had a blessed Easter, celebrating the true reason for the day, Jesus' resurrection from the grave and eternal life for all who believe in Him.

God Bless,
Jenn and family
